For the Vistula neighborhood project for The Berdan LLC, KCS Contracting worked as the general trades contractor, providing extensive interior lead abatement and painting services. KCS performed an entire lead abatement process on 41 buildings that house 250 units, totaling 233,447 square feet of space. The project total for all 250 units was $1.375 million.

Work Provided:

• Scrape all loose paint
• Rinse all previously painted surfaces with no-rinse, pre-paint cleaner
• Protect all adjacent surfaces from any lead contamination
• Clean all adjacent surfaces per code for lead abatement
• Apply lead block to all cracked or damaged paint surfaces; caulk gaps
• Apply two coats to cover all previously paint surfaces
• Remove damaged wood and caulk
• Paint prefinished shelves and door frames
• Power-washing and applying two coats of tuff coat on decks
